Steeg and surroundings

Steeg is a typical village at an altitude of 1,222m, with the suburbs of Hägerau, Walchen, Dickenau, Ebene, Grube, Hinterellenbogen, Prenten, Gehren and Lechteilen.

The name comes from the settlements of 1434 and 1473 in a fief document of the Herren von Schwangau by the name of Kaiserstög about the Lech. Steeg belongs to the political district of Reutte.
